View of Canal Grande – Carlo Grubacs

Active in Venice between the 1830 and the 1875.
He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice where he exhibited his works in 1847, 1855, 1858 and 1864. His paintings, often of a small size, offer carefully detailed and lively views of Venice, executed in the tradition of 19th century Venetian ‘Vedutismo’ where the artist combines the skillful drawing with the bright and luminous palette.
